A Museum-like Environment

Art is part of the unique appeal of the GICC - and not by chance. From the beginning, the GICC's building management team envisioned art in its mission to build and furnish a unique, new meeting facility.

The artists selected were inspired, too. Artists who are commissioned to design public art for such spaces are often held to a strict set of guidelines for the art they are asked to create.

With the GICC commission, however, the artists experienced a creative freedom that was, well, refreshingly unconventional.

More than thirty-five works of art are featured throughout the building: from artists of international acclaim and local fame alike; and in varied media, from sculptures to mobiles and glasswork.

Audio Art Tour

We invite you to come to the GICC and take our Audio Art Tour. Just download the podcast or mp3 versions of the tour, and come visit us for your own private tour. When you arrive, the Audio Tour begins in the South Ballroom lobby, outside of the GICC Administrative Offices, and progresses throughout the interior of the building, concluding at Exhibit Hall D. Enjoy!
